CIRES & Shengfeng power discussion and site visit

Updated: Aug 8

Date: 2022.06.16

Site: Small meeting room in College of Environmental Studies and Oceanography & Shengfeng power plant

The Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Ecology and Sustainablity (CIRES) of National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) has been closely monitoring the progress of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (GPV) projects in eastern Taiwan. Team members hope to establish standardized monitoring systems at existing or upcoming PV projects, hoping to obtain fundamental data on ecosystem services and socioeconomic development, which is currently lacking, to establish a model for sustainable solar photovoltaic (GPV) development in Taiwan. Therefore, following the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between NDHU and AUO on May 23, 2022, and to further confirm future collaboration, CIRES held a symposium on June 16, 2022, to brief Shengfeng Optoelectronics personnel on the environmental monitoring projects, methods, and frequency that each researcher will undertake. Following the meeting, CIRES visited the project sites to understand existing limitations and available assistance.
