The Fonglin area is an area with many large-scale ground photovoltaic constructing applications in Hualien County. The first large-scale case site will also be connected to the public power grid for power generation at the end of December 2022. The impact that photovoltaic projects may have on the local ecological environment and social economy is an issue that has yet to be clarified at the scientific and academic levels. Taiwan currently lacks relevant scientific research data for public policy discussions.
In view of this, our center - Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Ecological and Sustainability Science at National Dong Hwa University - has convened researchers from different fields to conduct research on the ecological environment and residents' attitudes at the Fonglin Optoelectronics site and its surroundings for more than a year. The latest and phased research results are expected to be released on May 5, and information on current national policies and related optoelectronic technologies will be shared and discussed with local residents in Fonglin.
We very much look forward to the participation of interested residents to understand and explore the possibilities of local sustainable development.
