Socio-ecological system resilience

Renewable energy, agricultural production and biodiversity conservation: a study on socio-ecological systems resilience and governance

Investigators: I Fang Sun, Hsing-Sheng Tai, Shih-Chieh Chang, Chun-Hung Lee, Yu-Yun Chen

This project is a collaboration between members of CIRES. It plans to investigate the effect of global change on the complex relationship between renewable energy, agricultural production and biodiversity conservation, with a case study in Hualien county, Taiwan. All three of these components are vital to the sustainable development of the region, as in many other parts of the world. Understanding how they interact will allow us to guide local policy and facilitate better governance outcomes.
